NHS Funded Eye Care

NHS Contracted Provider

As a fully NHS-contracted domiciliary eye care provider, we deliver comprehensive eye examinations and spectacle services at no cost to eligible patients. Our service is designed for anyone who has difficulty visiting a high street optician due to a physical or mental health condition, disability, or reduced mobility. Our optometrists come to you, wherever you are.

Free NHS Sight Test

You qualify for a fully funded NHS eye examination if you are:

  • Aged under 16
  • Aged 16, 17, or 18 and in full-time education
  • Aged 60 or over
  • Diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
  • Considered to be at risk of glaucoma As advised by an ophthalmologist
  • Aged 40 or over and a parent, sibling, or child of someone diagnosed with glaucoma
  • Registered blind or partially sighted
  • Eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher Our optometrist will advise on your entitlement
  • Receiving certain means-tested benefits Including Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income-based Employment and Support Allowance, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit, or Universal Credit (meeting qualifying conditions)
  • On a low income and named on a valid HC2 (full help) or HC3 (partial help) certificate
  • A prisoner being seen outside prison

NHS Optical Voucher

Financial help towards the cost of your spectacles or contact lenses

You may be entitled to an NHS optical voucher to help with the cost of glasses or lenses if you are:

  • Aged under 16
  • Aged 16, 17, or 18 and in full-time education
  • Eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher Our optometrist will advise on your entitlement
  • Receiving certain means-tested benefits Including Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income-based Employment and Support Allowance, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit, or Universal Credit (meeting qualifying conditions)
  • On a low income and named on a valid HC2 (full help) or HC3 (partial help) certificate
  • A prisoner being seen outside prison

The majority of our patients, particularly care home residents aged 60 and over, are fully eligible for both a free NHS sight test and an optical voucher towards spectacles.
